Every year on the 3rd weekend in Advent, the Christmas market takes place in the heart of Hoyerswerda's old town.

 In memory of the work of Imperial Princess Ursula Katharina von Teschen in Hoyerswerda during the 18th century, the Christmas market in Hoyerswerda is called the Teschenmarkt; it is organized by the Lausitzhalle. **From Friday, December 11, through Sunday, December 13, 2026, a festive Christmas atmosphere will take over the area around the market square in the Old Town.** The community center and the castle will also be decked out for Christmas.

The market square will feature a diverse Christmas program for young and old alike. Numerous market stalls will offer Christmas treats such as baked apples, mulled wine, candied almonds, and, of course, all kinds of hearty festive fare. Come by and let yourself be tempted!
