Hiking enthusiasts can climb the 792 m high Lausche and, on a clear day, see the Landeskrone near Görlitz or gaze towards the Czech Republic into Bohemia or even to the Krkonoš Mountains. Beautiful hiking trails lead around Waltersdorf or to neighboring towns, for example to the romantic monastery ruin on the Oybin mountain. Caspar David Friedrich was already fascinated by it and painted several pictures of it. The tri-border area of Germany-Poland-Czech Republic is only about 15 km away in a straight line.Waltersdorf itself offers plenty of dining options. The Trixi leisure pool with wellness and sauna complex as well as brine baths attracts not only children but is aimed at the whole family.
