We hike on historic paths to the Forest Botanical Garden. A tour through the 34-hectare site, established in 1811, leads from North American woody plants to Japan.

The Tharandt Forest Botanical Garden was established in 1811 as the oldest of its kind worldwide in a part of the Tharandt landscape beautified since 1797, together with the world's second-oldest forestry university, which Heinrich Cotta relocated here and is now part of TU Dresden.
