description: "The picturesque appearance of the village with 600 inhabitants is shaped by its well-known Salvatorkirche (built from 1624 to 1626), which already shapes the village view from afar with its octagonal tower and impresses inside with its rich furnishings. In the middle of the village, an old arch bridge has connected the two banks of the Weiße Elster for 700 years. With its 7 arches over 46 meters in length, it is one of the oldest stone arch bridges in Germany. But there is more to discover by bike around the village of Kürbitz: small village churches that breathe Vogtland history, evidence of the German-German division at the Green Belt of Europe, wonderful views into the Vogtland hill landscape that make you forget the effort of the climbs. Along the way, small village inns invite you to linger."

The village of Kürbitz is located in the idyllic valley of the Weiße Elster, surrounded by the green hilly landscape of the Saxon Vogtland. The bike route covers over 40 km.

The picturesque appearance of the village with 600 inhabitants is shaped by its well-known Salvatorkirche (built from 1624 to 1626), which already shapes the village view from afar with its octagonal tower and impresses inside with its rich furnishings. Along the way, small village inns invite you to linger.

Safety guidelines

The bike route runs almost exclusively on small country roads, so please watch out for car traffic.

The spring is located in a meadow a little off the road. There is a narrow hiking trail with large roots and stones leading there. We recommend leaving your bike at the pedestrian bridge and walking to the spring.
