Additional information

From the starting point at Frohnauer Hammer, hike along the Firstenweg (red-white marking) uphill. Following Poststraße, pass the Frohnauer cemetery and kindergarten and after about 1.5 km reach a signpost. Follow the sign to the left in the direction of Devil's Pulpit, which you will reach shortly. From the Devil's Pulpit you can enjoy a magnificent view of the historic old town of the mining town Annaberg with its local mountain Pöhlberg. Follow the Firstenweg marking further via Dahlienweg to the junction of the Old Buchholzer Straße at Cheerful View. Here turn right and follow the marking for the long-distance hiking trail EB Eisenach-Budapest downhill towards Schlettau. In Schlettau, cross the Zschopau and reach the picturesque castle complex Schlettau after a few hundred meters.

From Schloss Schlettau, cross the castle park heading north and reach the European long-distance hiking trail E3 (blue-white marking) on Hermannsdorfer Weg. Follow the path further north towards the outdoor swimming pool and Dörfel. Your path leads a little above the Zschopau valley. After about 3 km, follow the marking of the long-distance hiking trail E3 and turn right to Dörfel. After crossing the Zschopau again, ascend along the village street in Dörfel. At house number 18, take the right turn and after another 250 meters, turn left. Follow the path which now ascends steeply to Dörfler Höhe, another excellent viewpoint. From Dörfler Höhe, hike left along the ridge towards Frohnau. After 500 meters, at a bend in the road, take the field path to the right and then immediately turn left onto the first path along the weekend house settlement towards Frohnau main road. At the main road in Frohnau, follow it to the right. The road leads you down into the Sehmatal back to the starting point at Frohnauer Hammer.
