From the city center the route passes historic sights like the St. Thomas Church, through the Clara Zetkin Park and the green floodplain forest towards the south. At Cospudener See, also called \"Cossi\" by Leipzig locals, which originated from a former open-cast mine, there are very beautiful beach sections and numerous leisure opportunities by the water. So definitely pack swimwear! The route is about 28 kilometers long, mostly flat, and runs over well-developed cycle paths into the green. Along the circular path around Cossi, numerous snack stands, bistros, and harbor restaurants invite you for a short stop. On the return journey, you get another view of Leipzig’s city greenery before the route ends in the heart of the city center – a perfect blend of city experience and relaxation by the water."
