The fateful encounter between the dragon and the knight freed Kürbitz from its reign of terror but ended fatally for both. In honor of their savior, the villagers erected a particularly ornate tombstone for Knight Feilitzsch, with a relief showing the hero with sword and armor, the slain creature at his feet. This tombstone can still be seen today in the Salvator Church. The legend also remains a vivid part of the village culture. Those who want to follow the trail can go on a nearly six-kilometer-long Kürbitz lindworm path to search for clues."
