Start your route near the station at the source of the Rote Mulde. On well-developed forest paths and partly paved sections, you cycle through idyllic forest and meadow landscapes towards the Ore Mountains; past the Muldenberg reservoir, you reach the rafting village of Muldenberg and continue to Morgenröthe-Rautenkranz, the birthplace of the first German cosmonaut. From here, you follow exclusively paved paths to the mountain and embroidery town of Eibenstock with its wide range of tourist offerings. Past the Blauenthal waterfall, it then goes on a former railway line converted into a bike path along the Mulde to Aue. If you are suddenly greeted on the way with \"Glück auf!\" (Good luck!), it is an unmistakable sign that you have now entered the Ore Mountains."

Directions

Our route starts at Schöneck/Vogtland station. We ride a few meters south, then turn left onto Waldstraße, keep right in the curve and reach a T-junction. We alternate turning right and left, soon pass the Meilerhütte and finally reach Sandweg. We follow it to the Rote Mulde forebay.

We cross the railway tracks, follow them for a short distance and reach Muldenberg. We pass through the town on the main street, continue straight into Hammerbrückerstraße and follow it to Hammerbrücke. Now we go through the Muldenwiesen nature reserve, then right into Friedrichsgrüner Straße and then quickly three times left until after a loop we reach the course of the Zwickauer Mulde river.

This path leads us to Jägersgrün, where we have to cover a short distance along the main road. In Rautenkranz, turn right to Neues Wiesenhaus, then curve over the Wilzschmühle and finally always follow the signs to Eibenstock.

We cross this directly. Behind it, we reach the Große Bockau river and directly on the bank the Zimmersacher inn. We follow the river further to Blauenthal, turn right there and cycle along the federal road to Aue.
