With great views over the spa town of Oberwiesenthal and the Bohemian Ridge, it soon goes downhill through snow-covered spruce forest to Vierenstraße station of the steam-operated Fichtelberg Railway.

Before the winter hike, relax by taking the Fichtelberg Railway from Vierenstraße station up to the spa town of Oberwiesenthal. On foot, you reach Vierenstraße by turning right onto Poststraße, passing the ski slope and the valley station of the cable car, then uphill to the start of the hike.
