 Route for sunny winter days

You want to enjoy the few hours of sunshine during the cold season in the open countryside. We recommend a short circular walk from Wolkensteiner Markt to Kohlau with a detour to Zeisigstein and back again with panoramic views of Wolkenstein and the Ore Mountains.

Guided hikes are particularly recommended in winter, as local hiking guides may be able to better assess the accessibility of the relevant paths or test them before the planned tour.

Hikes can also be combined with guided city tours. Thematic hikes, except herbal tours, are available on request.

Directions

We recommend a short tour from Wolkensteiner Markt in a south-easterly direction. The tour leads through the gateway opposite the town hall on the Panoramaroute cycle path to the Kohlau outwork, where it turns left following the green markings via Großrückerswalder Straße back to the town center.

A detour to the Zeisigstein rock pulpit (from Kohlau to the right, also marked in green), with views of the Preßnitz and Zschopau valleys, is well worthwhile.
