26th Erzgebirge Traditional Crafts Days
In more than 130 workshops, museums, and associations across the Erzgebirge, craftsmanship takes center stage. This is a rare opportunity to peek behind the scenes and immerse yourself in centuries-old skills – often hidden, seldom seen, yet always authentic and accessible. Along the way, you'll meet people who share their craft with heart and dedication.
What makes this weekend truly special are the personal, genuine encounters: hands-on activities often invite you to get creative yourself and try out various traditional techniques. And with a range of regional culinary delights, there's plenty to enjoy for the palate, too.

Not all venues are open on both days. Be sure to check the opening times of individual participants in advance.

The majority of activities are free of charge. Some formats – such as workshops, expert talks, or museum visits – may require a small fee.

Traveling to the Erzgebirge by car is convenient via the A4 motorway (Dresden – Chemnitz – Erfurt) and the A72 (Leipzig – Hof). From there, well-developed federal roads such as the B95 (Leipzig – Annaberg-Buchholz) or B101 (Freiberg – Aue) lead directly into the region.

Traveling to the Erzgebirge by train typically starts via major transport hubs such as Dresden, Leipzig, or Chemnitz. From there, regional trains connect you to towns like Annaberg-Buchholz, Schwarzenberg, or Olbernhau.
Many smaller destinations are served by local bus routes.
