Many buildings are already several 100 years old.

There are a lot of castles, palaces, and parks.

In Saxony you can go to museums.

You can visit concerts, festivals, and theatres.

Craftsmen make beautiful things.

Dresden is the capital city of Saxony.

The city is known all over the world for art and culture.

The river Elbe divides Dresden into two parts: 

the Old Town and the New Town.

There are wine mountains in this area 

and wine festivals in the summer.

Valuable porcelain is produced here.

From porcelain you can make things 

like plates, cups and figures.

In Leipzig you can do many different things.

The city is, for example, 

known for music, sports, and books.

It is a modern city with many young people.

Near Leipzig is the beautiful Muldental.

Nowhere else in Saxony are there more 

castles, palaces, and parks than here.

You can walk, cycle, or go horseback riding.

Chemnitz is a modern city.

You can visit the Industry Museum for example.

There is also a museum about art 

and a museum about buildings.

In the Ore Mountains craftsmen produce 

beautiful things made of wood.

In the mountains you can go hiking and enjoy the beautiful view.

You can also ride on an old steam train.

At the very east of Saxony lies the Lusatian Lakelands.

You can swim, cycle, and hike here.

In the cities of Görlitz, Zittau and Bautzen there are beautiful buildings.

The park in Bad Muskau is one of the most beautiful parks in the world.

In one area of Saxony there are some very special rocks.

It looks like Switzerland.

The area is therefore called: Saxon Switzerland.

You can hike here, climb the rocks, 

or ride a bike along the Elbe.

For a long time, the federal state of Saxony 

has cared about accessibility without barriers.

Barriers are obstacles.

For example, stairs for wheelchair-users, or difficult language.

Everyone should be able to go on holiday in Saxony.

Also, people with impairments.

There are already many great offers for disabled guests 

in Saxony.

In Leipzig, the association of the disabled helped.

The companies in the Lusatian Lakeland were visited by 

the tourism association.

For many places in Saxony there is a list 

with the tested companies.

The list includes, for example:

• holiday homes and holiday flats,
