Gleaming lights, the scent of mulled wine and Christmas music fill the city centre: the Dresden Striezelmarkt celebrates its 591st anniversary in 2025 from 26 November to 24 December, symbolising the anchoring of Advent and Christmas traditions in Dresden and the Elbland region. In addition to Saxon (arts and) crafts, there is plenty of entertainment every day at the traditional market and great spectacles at the weekends.  On the second weekend of Advent, Dresdeners pay homage to the traditional Dresden Christmas biscuit, the original Dresden Christmas stollen, at the Stollenfest . The Pyramid Festival is celebrated on the third weekend in Advent. Experience the Christmas market hustle and bustle, typical Saxon delicacies and traditional crafts in the heart of Dresden's baroque Old Town!
