A visit to Görlitz on the German-Polish border is particularly worthwhile during the Advent season. The Christmas lights transform the old town and the streets of the city center into a romantic fairytale town.

Traders, restaurateurs and craftsmen present their goods and specialties from Silesia, Saxony and Bohemia in a festive atmosphere. Christmas music, choirs and ensembles from Görlitz will put you in the Christmas spirit and every day the Görlitz Christ Child visits the market and hands out small gifts to young and old. The lively marketplace offers visitors many attractions: traditional Christmas caroling, a rich children's program prepared by kindergartens and schools from Görlitz and Zgorzelec.
