TANZ | MODERNE | TANZ Festival

From September 16 to 20, 2026, the international festival TANZ | MODERNE | TANZ will once again set Chemnitz in motion. Under the theme “Dance Meets Industrial Culture,” international guest performances, contemporary dance, and urban dance will come together at extraordinary venues—including, for the first time, at fabrik chemnitz.

Look forward to international companies, new works from the residency program, spectacular performances in public spaces, breakdance battles, and hands-on workshops. A special highlight awaits on September 19 at the Karl Marx Monument: Together, we want to set a new Guinness World Record for the world’s largest ballet class.
