Wine & Light at Wackerbarth Castle Radebeul

As the days grow shorter and the scent of mulled wine begins to waft through the Radebeul vineyards, one of the most delightful times of the year begins at Wackerbarth Castle.
From November 2026 through February 2027, Europe’s first experiential winery will be lighting up every evening. Under the theme “Wine & Light,” Wackerbarth Castle transforms into an enchanting world of radiant splendor, music, and indulgence with its winter light decorations. Every day starting at 3 p.m., thousands of lights lend the Baroque grounds and the Wackerbarthberg a special atmosphere. The light sculptures and selected illuminations, along with fairy-tale lanterns, invite visitors to take a stroll through the romantically lit grounds. Atmospheric music with Christmas melodies rounds out the experience for all the senses.

From Monday through Thursday, the lights shine in the vineyards and throughout the Baroque grounds between the castle and the Belvedere. The lanterns by Radebeul artist Bärbel Voigt depict the fantastical world of Pinocchio. From Friday through Sunday, additional light installations and illuminations are turned on throughout the entire grounds.
