As the name suggests, the café is located directly on the tracks and served as the railroad attendant's house from 1949 until shortly before the flood in 2002. Since 2008, the Bahnwärterhäuschen in Tharandt has been home to a café where guests are warmly welcomed. As an ideal destination for hikers, families and cyclists, it invites you to stop for coffee, homemade cakes, hot waffles or a freshly prepared hearty meal. Depending on the weather, guests can settle down for a relaxing break in the house with its rustic furnishings or in the spacious garden. The Bahnwärterhäuschen also hosts cultural events and various activities. Some of these are firmly anchored in the seasonal calendar. These include, for example, the Viennese Coffee House event, where guests can experience the charm of Vienna in the 1930s
