The Domkeller Meißen is the oldest operating restaurant in the city. Saxon cuisine, a historic atmosphere, and a terrace overlooking Meissen’s Old Town invite you to stop in.

The Domkeller Meißen is one of the city’s oldest restaurants and is located in the immediate vicinity of the cathedral and Albrechtsburg Castle on the historic Burgberg hill. This time-honored establishment traces its history back to 1470 and combines a historic ambiance with Saxon cuisine. Winding rooms, leaded-glass windows, and historic details define the atmosphere of the dining areas.

The kitchen offers traditional Saxon dishes as well as various fish and meat specialties. The menu is complemented by Saxon wines and freshly tapped beers.

From March through October, the terrace invites guests to linger and offers a sweeping view over the rooftops of Meissen’s Old Town and the Elbe Valley. In addition, various venues are available for family celebrations, corporate events, conferences, and other occasions. Thanks to its unique location, historic atmosphere, and view, the Domkeller is one of the most famous dining destinations in Meissen’s Old Town.
