Alte Scheune Rietzschelhof

The Rietzschelhof was built as a three-sided farm, lovingly renovated, and has been family-owned since 1856. We offer our guests a quiet and relaxing atmosphere, modern and tastefully furnished holiday apartments in a well-kept environment. Far away from the hustle and bustle, but still centrally located, all important sights of the Saxon Switzerland and Dresden can be reached in a short time. For example: the Bastei, the Königstein, the Frauenkirche, Moritzburg Castle, and Pillnitz Castle, just to name the most famous ones. Right by the farm stands a 1000-year-old linden tree, one of the oldest trees in Germany, and the arguably smallest freestanding museum, dedicated to Clara and Robert Schumann. You can also make many discoveries in our immediate surroundings, such as Weesenstein Castle, with its castle brewery, and the blue house in Maxen.
From the apartments, you can enjoy views of the garden, which merges into the open countryside and offers an unobstructed view of the Osterzgebirge. On the property, there are many seating areas with beautiful views all the way to the Königstein, which you can use to unwind in the evening after a hike, a shopping trip, or a visit to a museum.

Take the A17 highway towards Prague at the Dresden West interchange until the Heidenau exit, continue towards Kreischa until Wittgensdorf, then turn towards Maxen and shortly before Maxen head towards Pirna until Schmorsdorf. Just before Schmorsdorf, you will pass over the three linden trees. One of the most beautiful viewpoints in the area. You enjoy the view of the entire Elbe valley and the Saxon Switzerland and see Schmorsdorf for the first time lying in the landscape at your feet.
