The Obscuratorium is located at Basteiplatz 6, in the center of Bad Schandau: a house from 1704, listed as a historic monument, renovated down to the timber framework. It contains three apartments of 45 square meters each, each with its own bedroom, bathroom, Finnish sauna, and kitchen, each accommodating up to four people. The Alte Schusterei on the ground floor has a terrace by the Kirnitzsch, the Beletage on the first floor has a balcony, and the Cellestarium under the roof has a small balcony with sloped ceilings. Heating is provided using geothermal energy, the roof is fitted with solar tiles, and the house has fiber optic Wi-Fi and a parking space for each apartment. The ferry, Kirnitzschtalbahn, and hiking trails in the rocks and forests start right outside the door. Non-smoking house, no elevator.

Deposit 25 % within seven days after booking, the rest by bank transfer up to seven days before arrival, no deposit required. Final cleaning, bed linens, towels, sauna, Wi-Fi, and parking space are included in the price. Additionally, the visitor's tax of the city of Bad Schandau: 3 euros per adult per day, 1.50 euros for children from 7 to 15, free for those below. In return, you receive the guest card Sächsische Schweiz mobil with free travel on the S-Bahn, bus, Kirnitzschtalbahn, and almost all ferries.
By train: S-Bahn S1 from Dresden to Bad Schandau, from the national park station take the ferry across the Elbe, then walk about 400 meters to Basteiplatz.
By car: via B172 to Bad Schandau, over the Elbe bridge into the town; Basteiplatz is located above the marketplace by the Kirnitzsch. One parking space per apartment, GPS address Poststraße 2. Arrival from 4 p.m., the key is available in the key safe at the house. Departure by 11 a.m.
