Hardly any other region in Saxony is as famous for its Christmas rituals as the Erzgebirge with its unique tradition of wooden art and toy making.

You can look over the shoulders of master craftsmen at work in a number of workshops that have been preserved to this day and experience traditional craftsmanship up close: hoop turning in a Seiffen toymaker's workshop, lace-making in an Annaberg parlor, the production of smoked candles with the popular Christmas scents and the baking of Erzgebirge Christmas stollen.

Particularly moving are the mining parades and processions as well as Metten shifts in the strongholds of the former silver mining industry. The traditions and customs in the Ore Mountains are many centuries old and are an integral part of Saxony's culture.

The Ore Mountains are the cradle of German Christmas traditions. For centuries, nutcrackers, candle arches and smokers have been made from wood here, creating a cozy atmosphere during the Advent season. Itinerary

Day 1 - Visit to the stollen bakery and dinner
Today you will be spoiled with culinary delights during a visit to a stollen bakery with tasting. You will enjoy dinner at the hotel.
Overnight stay in a 3-star hotel in the Ore Mountains

Day 2 - Visit to show workshops and ride on the Fichtelberg Railway
You will travel to Seiffen and visit the Seiffen show workshop. Afterwards, take a ride on the Fichtelbergbahn from Cranzahl to Oberwiesenthal.

Day 3 - Annaberg-Buchholz Christmas market & visit to a smoked cone manufacturer
A visit to the Christmas market in Annaberg-Buchholz will give you a Christmas feeling. Afterwards, you will visit St. Anne's Church and the "Manufactory of Dreams". The day ends with a visit to an incense candle manufacturer.

Day 4 - Visit to an Erzgebirge Christmas market and journey home
