Hanke Winery

  • Wine-growing estate

The Hanke brothers' family-run winery is located on the Gorrenberg in Jessen and is the northernmost premium winery in the Saxony wine-growing region.

The Hanke Winery in Jessen (Elster) combines a long tradition of winemaking with artisanal quality and regional identity. Although Jessen is geographically located in Saxony-Anhalt, it belongs to the Saxony wine-growing region under wine law. The Hanke family has been growing grapes for several generations. Since the winery’s founding in 1994, the Hanke brothers, Frank and Ingo, have actively contributed to preserving this tradition and cultivate approximately 17 hectares on the Gorrenberg, growing 13 grape varieties—a selection of the most popular German grapes— as well as strawberries and fruit trees.

Visitors can, by prior appointment, discover the variety of wines during an enjoyable tasting in the cozy wine bar and also purchase them directly on site. This offer is aimed at groups and families of 10 or more people. In addition, the winery invites visitors to explore the world of regional viticulture through tastings, events, and insights into the work on-site.
