Since 1995, the museum has preserved her artistic legacy and provides a vivid picture of her life and work. The permanent exhibition features around 30 original works spanning more than five decades of artistic activity. Photographs, diary entries, and excerpts from letters also offer personal insights into the artist’s eventful life. A particular highlight is a tour of the two rooms where Käthe Kollwitz lived until her death on April 22, 1945.
The exhibition is complemented by regularly rotating special exhibitions that place the work of Käthe Kollwitz, as well as the work of other artists, within a broader art-historical context
