Wine has been produced on the Mariaberg since 1623. Following the revival of this historic winery in 2008, distinctive wines made from traditional Saxon grape varieties are now produced here. The vineyards, covering approximately 2.1 hectares, are located exclusively on steep slopes and terraces in the Meissen Spaargebirge mountains. The site, characterized by weathered granite soils, gives the wines their distinctive character. Varieties grown here include Goldriesling, Riesling, Müller-Thurgau, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, and Traminer. The wines are known for their freshness, delicate fruitiness, and distinct varietal character.
In addition to the wine experience, the seasonal wine tavern invites visitors to enjoy Mariaberg wines in a relaxed atmosphere.
Events on offer include wine tastings as well as various wine hikes with tastings through the Spaargebirge.
The winery also offers lovingly furnished vacation apartments for an unforgettable wine-themed vacation in Saxony.
