Plauen thread factory
As a new and innovative museum for the textile industry, the Thread Factory, with 1,200 square meters of interactive exhibition space, is located in one of the oldest surviving manufacturing buildings in Germany. Selected exhibits and machines are presented in conjunction with the most modern exhibition design and show the diverse facets of the Vogtland history of the textile industry.
Thematically structured exhibition areas on three levels present textile production, fashion, technology, as well as social and cultural history in a multi-faceted manner.
A modern and interactive educational offering offers numerous opportunities for discovery for young and old.

Directions & Parking facilities
- Anreise
Anreise nach Plauen über die B92 aus Richtung Oelsnitz, oder die B173 aus Weischlitz oder Reichenbach – an der Hofer Straße abbiegen in Richtung Greiz (B92 folgen), auf Höhe der „Weißen Elster“ in die Böhlerstraße abbiegen. Über die nächste Kreuzung erreichen Sie unseren PKW-Stellplatz.
Anreise nach Plauen aus Richtung Greiz: B92 folgend auf Höhe des Elektromarktes links abbiegen in die Dürerstraße. Nach circa 200 Metern liegt die Fabrik der Fäden auf der linken Seite.
Parken
Kostenpflichtige PKW-Stellplätze befinden sich direkt vor der Tür.
Eine E-Ladesäule ist vorhanden.
Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel
Mit dem Zug bis Oberer Bahnhof oder Bahnhof Mitte, von dort aus weiter mit der Straßenbahn bis „Neue Elsterbrücke“ – circa 650 Meter Fußweg zur Fabrik der Fäden
Buslinien aus Richtung Oelsnitz bis Haltestelle „Böhlerstraße“, von dort circa 3 Minuten Fußweg zur Fabrik der Fäden.
