Retzschgut Winery

  • Wine-growing estate
The Retzschgut, one of Saxony’s smallest wineries, offers a wonderful combination of fine wines and accommodations in a historic setting.

The Retzschgut in Radebeul uniquely combines viticulture, history, and Saxon wine culture. The estate was built as early as 1649 and bears the name of the painter and professor Moritz Retzsch, who lived here in the 19th century and cultivated the vineyard on the property.

Today, the Retzschgut is one of Saxony’s smallest wineries. The vineyard stretches behind the historic residence almost all the way to the Spitzhaus. The grapes are harvested by hand and traditionally vinified into wines full of character. Classic grape varieties such as Müller-Thurgau, Kerner, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Traminer, and Scheurebe are grown on approximately 0.22 hectares of vineyard.

The wines are sold directly on-site and can be enjoyed in a relaxed atmosphere at the seasonal wine tavern.

In addition, two cozy vacation apartments invite guests to spend their vacation at the winery.
