Schuh Winery with Wine Shop & Guesthouse

  • Wine-growing estate
At this family-run winery in Sörnewitz, the art of winemaking and hospitality come together in perfect harmony. Here, it’s all about discovering, experiencing, and enjoying!
The family-run Schuh Winery in Sörnewitz near Meissen has been synonymous with high-quality Saxon winemaking and genuine hospitality since 1990. In the winery’s historic estate buildings, wine production, a wine shop, and guest rooms come together to create an attractive destination for wine lovers.

In the wine shop, visitors can sample the winery’s entire selection in a relaxed atmosphere and receive expert advice. Cyclists and day-trippers also enjoy stopping by the winery for a pleasant break thanks to its location near the Elbe Cycle Route. Those who wish to explore the region more thoroughly will find suitable lodging in the guest rooms.

The winery cultivates approximately five hectares of vineyards in the Spaargebirge, including the single-vineyard plot Klausenberg. The wines are crafted with a great deal of manual labor, sustainable farming practices, and a commitment to authentically expressing the unique characteristics of the soil, climate, and terroir. Guided vineyard hikes, themed walking tours, and the “Kellergeflüster” (Whispers from the Cellar) offer fascinating insights into the winery’s work as well as Saxony’s rich wine culture.
