Village green Altkötzschenbroda with “Peace Church”

Countless lovely designed houses and cottages - the strolling promenade astonishes visitors with Italian flair.

Time for a rest during the tour along the Elbe cycling path? Or feeling like going for some window shopping after a walk through the vineyards? Situated in the vine- and garden town Radebeul, the historic village green Altkötzschenbroda, is the perfect place. Whether you´re up for a visit in the traditional pubs with its vault cellars, cafés, boarding houses or the hotel on site, but also the galleries, ateliers, demonstration workshops and the local history parlor – visitors will be astonished about the individual and creative regard for detail. Not only designer fashion, souvenirs and antiques, but also fruits and vegetables from organic farming, as well as fresh cow milk and, an old-established town bakery make this place so special.

In short, it´s not surprising that this strolling promenade is the most appreciated and popular one of the town. Another architectonic beauty spot is the historic old town, thanks to the countless lovely designed houses and cottages. The historic peace church Koetzschenbroda towers above the end of the town. This is also the place, where Saxony and Sweden agreed cease-fire of the Thirty Years War in 1645. The old village church with its negotiating table with respect to the cease-fire agreement between Saxony and Sweden is also worth a visit. The village green attracts visitors to drop by for a visit in its countless cafés, galleries, and ateliers which is a feast for the eye when it comes to art and culture.
