We hike on historic paths to the Forest Botanical Garden. A tour through the 34-hectare site, established in 1811, leads from North American woody plants to Japan.

The Tharandt Forest Botanical Garden was established in 1811 as the oldest of its kind worldwide in a part of the Tharandt landscape beautified since 1797, together with the world's second-oldest forestry university, which Heinrich Cotta relocated here and is now part of TU Dresden. Visit the oldest teaching building of the university in the green, the today’s state arboretum which was expanded several times, up to the recently created North American quarters in ForstPARK®.
