7th route: Power of water - timber rafting and electricity

 The hiking trail leads us along the traces of timber rafting from the Eastern Ore Mountains via the Wilde Weißeritz river to Dresden, as well as to the later use of hydropower for energy and drinking water production. During our hike, we encounter authentic witnesses such as rafting ponds, rafting water channel, wood drop-off sites, charcoal burning, and much, much more. The highlight here is the visit to the Tharandt hydropower plant. Our hike begins at the Meiler parking lot in Tharandt with a visit to the Tharandt hydropower plant and ends in Grillenburg where the fishing festival of the Angling Club Tharandt takes place that day.
