The L5 is a circular trail around two of the well-known "14 eight-thousanders in the Eastern Ore Mountains" - the Scharspitze and the Biwak-Kuppe.

The start is at the Central cross-country ski parking lot Zinnwald. It is about 500 meters to the beginning of the circular trail, crossing the B170, the start is directly at the K-wing (Geisinger side).

You follow the trail parallel to the K-wing and then turn left into Mauswieselweg (steep descent).

At the end of the descent, you have the possibility to turn towards Altenberg via V3.

Keep slightly right and turn onto Neue Straße. At the end of the descent, keep right and continue to follow Neue Straße.

Continuing along Neue Straße, you reach the intersection of Langer Gassenweg/Neue Straße/Goldhahnweg. Go straight ahead here and at the next turn right. After about 400 m turn right to the K-wing, follow the parallel trail back to the starting point on the left.
