- Destination: Ridge trail at Hirschenstander Pass (936 m above sea level) or turnaround point exactly there back to Wildenthal
The route begins at the immediate edge of the village of Wildenthal; directly at the small ski lift (top station).
On flat terrain, it runs along the edge of the forest initially 2 km to the 5 houses of Oberwildenthal and then steadily, but gradually, 3 km on the historic route to Karlsbad up to the ridge of the Ore Mountains and the hiking border crossing to the Czech Republic.
From there, it is possible to extend to Jeleni (Hirschenstand) in the Czech Republic. It is about 2 km to the small guesthouse Jeleni (opening times and phone number usually indicated on a small sign at the border).

Safety guidelines
The FIS rules of conduct for cross-country skiers and the trail regulations of the German Ski Association apply on the trail.
- Every cross-country skier must behave in such a way that they do not endanger or harm others.
- Marking and information signs must be observed. Pedestrians and dogs are not allowed to enter the entire width of the trail.
- It is generally required to ski on the right track - also for groups.
- Overtaking is allowed on the left or right; the skier in front does not have to leave the track.
- Ski tours are to be avoided in darkness and extremely bad weather conditions.
- When resting and catching breath, the trail must be left.
Please note:- Mutual assistance is a matter of course and in emergencies a duty. The trail is monitored by the mountain rescue service (emergency call 112).
- If the trail width is sufficient, freestyle technique (skating) is allowed between the directional tracks; however, these must not be destroyed.
- It is safe to ski in the snowplow position between the directional lanes.
- The tracks must not be damaged while skating.
