Many great panoramic views and gems such as the Gelenau Fly Agaric, the Buschmühl pond, and the Tischl rest area await you on this route. The Bed of Encounter invites you to take a break with a wonderful view.

The hike starts at Erlebnisland Kegelsberg with a first panoramic view from the observation tower. At the beginning, you walk along a nature trail. You turn left onto Eisenstraße, where the path passes by gems such as the “Fly Agaric” (left side) and the Kemtau Rock (short detour to the right). Now you reach meadows and fields and have a magnificent view of the Ore Mountain ridge. It continues to the picturesque Buschmühl pond and the “Tischl” rest area in the Abt forest. Afterwards, you pass by the “Bed of Encounter” and the Pohl-Ströher collection depot, where a visit to the special exhibitions is worthwhile. With a wide-ranging view over one of Germany’s longest municipalities, the path leads you along Plattenstraße to the church and to the Gelenau town hall with its idyllic courtyard.

Start parking lot Erlebnisland Kegelsberg, Kemtauer Str. uphill, turn left onto Eisenstraße and follow it to the B95, cross the street, keep right towards Buschmühl pond, turn left to Tischl, after Tischl turn left towards Auerbach, keep left on Kohlweg along the forest edge, turn left to Bed of Encounter along the forest edge, turn right onto Willy-Poller-Straße, cross B95, turn left onto Emil-Werner-Weg to the Pohl-Ströher depot, right and then left onto Straße der Einheit, immediately right again and continue left via Louis-Riedel-Weg, right on a field path to Plattenstraße, turn left there up to the church, right on Erich-Weinert-Weg, left on forest path, cross Straße der Einheit, Rathausplatz, Kemtauer Str., back to the starting point
