From Görlitz, you ride the Kreisbahnradweg to Königshain and return via Markersdorf, Pfaffendorf, and the Saxon City Route around the Landeskrone.

You start from the Neißepark shopping center and ride the Kreisbahnradweg to Königshain. The brave can go as far as the Hochstein (or walk there) and take a short break. Through the villages of Markersdorf and Pfaffendorf, you reach the local mountain Landeskrone and then ride leisurely through the city back to your starting point.
Near the route, you can admire various sights, such as: the village museum in Markersdorf, where you can discover the rural lifestyle from 100 years ago. The quarries in Königshain, a former granite mining area, which also has a museum on the history of the mining, are particularly worth seeing. If you make the effort to ride (or walk) all the way to the top, you can admire the surroundings from the 22-meter-high observation tower on the "Hochstein".
Not far from the route, you will find Krobnitz Castle with a permanent exhibition on Albrecht Theodor Emil Count von Roon.

Directions

Before you start the route, visit the Hoffnungskirche in the district of Königshufen. The old church is not a remnant of a village center at this location, but it is the German-Ossig village church, which had to give way to lignite mining and was moved piece by piece.
You leave the district of Königshufen and follow the bike path (Kreisbahnradweg) to Königshain. It is a former railway line that gently ascends. At the end of the bike path, you ride down a small hill to Bäckerei Melzer. Continue along the village street out of Königshain and turn left onto the second field path.
You ride through the forest to the main road (Könighainer Straße). Cross the main road straight back into the forest. Through the forest and along the fields, you reach the B6; here you need to carefully cross the street and then ride straight through Markersdorf. Along the way, you pass through Lindenallee, Am Schöps, and Am Mühlberg. Turn left onto a field path and ride to Herrnhuter Straße, where you turn left again. Follow Herrnhuter Straße to Pfaffendorf. Through Pfaffendorf, you ride along the main street and later turn left onto Am Geudeberg. Follow the Saxon City Route along the Landeskrone to Görlitz.
