Through the valley of clattering mills into the adventure world of Blockhausen. The huge wooden water wheels drive the mills in the Gimmlitz valley with a powerful squeaking and rushing sound. They spit out a curtain of clear water. The hammers and mortars of the grinding and stamping mills develop enormous forces that you could not muster on your own. Enormous forces are also developed by the screeching chainsaws that carve amazingly filigree works of art from the gigantic blocks of wood at the annual chainsaw world championship. In Blockhausen, you are immersed in a gigantic fantasy settlement made of wood in the middle of the Martin family's private forest. There is probably nowhere else with such a large collection of wooden sculptures. The highlight is the 40-meter-long table. Carved from a single tree trunk, it is listed in the Guinness Book of Records.

Directions
The circular route starts at the portal in Holzhau, first via the transfer route (BLOCKLINE connection) in the direction of Hermsdorf (signposted BL 2). The BLOCKLINE route then leads through the Gimmlitztal valley towards Frauenstein. The old castle ruins tower above the town and exude the charm of the Scottish Highlands here in the Ore Mountains. You then pass the town of Mulda, which was known early on as a watchmaking and violin-making village. On hot days, it's worth stopping off at the Mulda adventure pool to refresh tired legs. The next reward awaits in the forest adventure village of BLOCKHAUSEN. The center of chainsaw art is a special highlight on this tour. The route continues to Dorfchemnitz, where the water has been hard at work for centuries. Two powerful water wheels keep the forge hammers in the "Eisenhammer", one of Saxony's oldest craft workshops, beating tirelessly. The route continues along the mountain town of Sayda, which was an important customs station in the past as a resting and trading place, towards Kreuztanne. From here, the Loop2 transfer route leads via Cämmerswalde back to Rechenberg- Bienenmühle/ Holzhau.

- Getting thereFrom the A 4 exit Siebenlehn, continue to Freiberg, Frauenstein. on the B 171 towards Rechenberg-Bienenmühle to Holzhau.from the A 13 to Dresden, on the B 170/171 to Rechenberg-Bienenmühle, then left to Holzhau. From the A 72 exit Chemnitz Süd, Südring to the B 174 via Zschopau to the Heinzebank junction, at the traffic lights turn left onto the B 101, in Mittelsaida turn right to Sayda - Rechenberg-Bienenmühle then right to Holzhau.Parking

Public transportationThe Freiberg Railway runs between Freiberg and Holzhau. Other stations are located in Mulda and Nassau. On Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, the train also runs every hour during the day, starting at 07:40 in Freiberg, with the last train back in Freiberg at 21:15. From 15:40, trains run every 2 hours.Please refer to the timetables for the exact departure times. Bicycles can be taken on the Freiberg Railway trains free of charge, but please book in advance as capacities are limited.In Freiberg you have connections to the Mitteldeutsche Regiobahn trains to Chemnitz and Dresden as well as to the city bus in front of the station.

ATTENTION Construction work along Loop 2, section 8 Mulda
The Geleitstraße in Mulda will be closed from September 17, 2025 until probably October 31, 2025 due to construction work. The detour will be signposted accordingly on site, please observe this detour from this period onwards.
