Directions
- The hike begins in Hohnstein at the market square. First turn onto the green line into Rathausstraße at the Arnold mountain sports store. Follow this path past the tourist information office until you reach the Alte Brandstraße junction on the blue line.
After a few meters, leave this path and turn right into the street "Am Breiten Stein". Staying on this road, you will soon find a short detour to the Ritterfels on the right. Here you have a wonderful view of Hohnstein Castle.
Back on the forest road, follow it further, where it leads straight ahead as a narrow path slightly to the right. At the next but one junction, at a bench, walk to the next fork and then turn right onto the Neuweg. You soon come to the Malerweg markings and keep right again. Now follow the Malerweg markings to the Brandbaude or Brandaussicht.
The way back initially follows the same wide path. However, stay on this path and follow the blue markings to the market.
