Children's hiking path "Moosmannleinspuren" Schöneck

We start at the Schöneck Tourist Information and follow the path towards the IFA Holiday Park. At the mountain rescue station, we turn right and look for the SchöneckHeart – a great photo motif with our beautiful town and the unique panoramic view in the background.

The path continues somewhat steeply downhill in the lift trail of the small Schießhausberg lift. Around the lift station, we are already in the Magic Forest and can help the Moosmannlein here to provide water for the forest animals.

Those who prefer to walk more comfortably, or have a stroller with them, can take the detour via the "Vogtlandhof Hohe Reuth." Here you go back to the road at the IFA Holiday Park, continue to the right and turn right onto the field path. Passing the farm, just follow the road until you reach the Mosenweg junction. Up on the right, you can see the lift station, and behind it lies the Magic Forest.

After having played thoroughly in the mud, continue following the signs, a short section along Stadtparkstraße, then left and immediately right again onto Mosenweg. What task is to be solved here? You should certainly continue attentively; the solution can be found at the next station.

At the end of the path, we turn right and have already arrived at the "Window to the City." A large wave bench invites you to linger here, while the children answer questions at the window, rock or balance. The path continues over small side streets until we reach the Kirchpark. From here, it is not far to the Burg playground and the next area.

The playground is divided into an area for toddlers and one for older children; it is located directly below the viewpoint rock "Alter Söll," where the Schöneck Castle once stood. Newly created a little higher up is the "Felsenburg" area with new play elements. Opposite in the community center, there is a public toilet and a bakery is also nearby.

After having surely played somewhat longer here, the path continues towards the town hall and the main street. Be sure to scan the QR code at the next sign and listen to the funny song of the old knights. On the main street, many tasks and games await you so you won’t get bored. And soon we arrive at Albertplatz. Here you can learn where Schöneck got its name, balance on a dangerous salamander, and play many games at the motor skills wall. Or you can sit comfortably in the shade of a large tree, get a book from the "Schönecker Bücherhäusl," and have something read to you.

The path further leads into the city park, surrounded by mighty trees, where you can discover traces of mining. In the mine hut or at the sand crane system, you can move the treasures of the forest and let your imagination run free. If you continue out of the city park, you come to the youth hostel and the sports field. Here we say goodbye and enjoy the view once more from the climbing pyramid.

It is best to set out wearing suitable clothing adapted to the weather. Change clothing is also advantageous as there is a water playground in the Magic Forest.

A little packed food never hurts, even though there are enough places to eat along the way. Your phone should also be charged because some tasks can only be done by scanning a QR code.
