Directions

We start our family route at the Tourist Information in Schöneck and ride towards the roundabout. Shortly before, we turn left onto a small path, follow it, and cross the road to enter the Meiler area. Here there is a snack bar, the Mulden spring, and several ponds inviting a short break. The path then leads us towards Tannenhaus; before the horse paddock on the left, we turn into the forest, ignore the first fork in the road, and turn left onto the main path.

We follow this path for about 1 km until a covered seating area appears on the left. Here we turn right, after about 500 m we turn left again and follow the path to a small wooden area near the road to Kottenheide. From here it’s about 1000 m again until we turn right and finally arrive in Kottenheide. We keep left and can already see the village square with benches, a swing, and a small climbing frame. Following the road further, we shortly reach the Hotel Haus am Ahorn, our day’s destination.

After a well-deserved break and a small or large refreshment, we ride back to Schöneck. We keep left and have to ride about 300 m beside the main road in the shoulder. This works very well in single file, and soon the “real” path appears on the left. Those with bike trailers can, of course, also stay on the road.

Soon after, we turn right and follow the “Kirchsteig” parallel to the road, always slightly downhill until we reach Schöneck. Here we cross the road once more and ride back through the Meiler area to the start.
