Beautiful tour via Floßgrabenweg and Mulderadweg and ride on the Erzgebirgsbahn with start at the Romantik Hotel Jagdhaus Waldidyll

Start from the Romantik Hotel Jagdhaus Waldidyll along the Mulde to Hartenstein station. From there, take the Erzgebirgsbahn to Bad Schlema. Follow the local road slightly uphill towards the town center until you reach Floßgrabenweg. This straight mountain trail along the historic Floßgraben offers fantastic views of the valley. Varied nature, massive rocks, rushing forests and waterfalls line the path. It leads via Aue to the "Rechenhaus" restaurant near Bockau. Refreshed, you can continue along the asphalted Mulde cycle path on a former railroad embankment to Blauenthal or Wolfsgrün or cycle straight back to Aue. Near Bockau, you cross a renovated railroad tunnel. The Mulderadweg ends in the new town of Aue. The route leads us through the town to Aue railroad station, from where we take the Erzgebirgsbahn to Hartenstein.

Author´s Tip / Recommendation of the author

RADschlag:
The raft trench (hist. designation "Flößgraben") was built between 1556 and 1559 to transport timber and firewood from the forests of the upper Erzgebirge to Schlema. The construction represents a masterpiece of mining engineering and is today one of the most important technical monuments in the Ore Mountains.
