Floßmeister Rungstock Valley Circular Route, Olbernhau

Starting point:

Olbernhau Stadtpark 450 m above sea level, parking behind Theater Variabel at Stadtpark, or at Bahnhofstraße

Alternative: Hiking parking lot Rungstockstraße (formerly cardboard factory)

Trail route (circular hike):

From Stadtpark Olbernhau we follow the marking EB (red), passing under the railway line and the bypass road. The Steinbruchweg transitions into the Finkenaue. At this point we follow the EB (red) marking. After the residential area, an old quarry is reached. A narrow path leads to Rungstockstraße. We follow Rungstockstraße towards the Pulvermühle, always following the EB (red) marking. Shortly after the Pulvermühle comes the Pulvermühlenteich. We reach the wild romantic section of the Rungstockbach (Floßmeister). At the intersection with the Heidenweg (shelter), the path leads back along the Rungstockbach following the Heidenweg. The path leads downhill at the next intersection to Pulvermühlenteich. We again reach the EB (red), which we follow back. Rungstockstraße leads towards the town until reaching Hammergasse. We turn into Hammergasse, from there to the railway underpass at Steinbruchweg. We again meet the EB path (red) and follow it towards Stadtpark to the starting point.
