Circular route through the idyllic villages of Lauterbach and Lauta

From the fortified church in Lauterbach, our route leads us to the Lautenteich in Lauta. We cross the village of Lauta and hike back through part of the Heinzewald to Lauterbach.

Directions

From the starting point, we walk through the church grounds of the fortified church and then continue to the left along the state road. After about 400 m, we turn right into Plattenstraße towards Lauta (E3). At the next junction, we turn left and follow the E3 marking. After passing under the bypass, we keep right at the next fork and reach Lautenteich. Via the Lauta village street, we reach the village center where we turn right into Lauta Garden Street (yellow marking). We follow this to the district road, which we follow to the right for about 200 m. Here we turn into Lauta Mill Way (green marking). We hike to the intersection Lauterbacher Weg in the Heinzewald and turn right towards Lauterbach (yellow marking). We follow the path to the center of Lauterbach and pass the elementary school and Heilandskirche back to the starting point.

A visit to the fortified church is worthwhile and can be arranged at the parish office (Tel. 0373523103) | In Lauta, a detour to the Besucherbergwerk Pferdegöpel visitor mine is recommended (closed on Mondays).
