Directions
From Schwartenberg we go downwards in the direction of Seiffen. We encounter the ridgeway (blue), which we follow to our destination, the Saigerhütte complex in Olbernhau-Grünthal. After the first descent, we reach the village street for a few meters. We turn left towards Binge. Passing the church, we walk towards the ski slope at Reicheltberg. The ridgeway leads as a hillside path towards the entrance of Seiffen. We cross the village street and follow a moderate ascent towards Wettiner Höhe. The Sachsenweg is crossed in the process. At the highest point, we turn left into the forest. Here, the E3 (blue) intersects with the ridgeway. After a longer downhill section (Wettin Path), we encounter the Sachsenweg EB (red) at the forest edge. The ridgeway leads us over the main road and the Flöha to the right. Then the biggest climb of the tour has to be mastered. In the forest, we encounter the Mining Path, which we follow downhill to the forest edge. The ridgeway leads us further into the Deep Trench, which we follow uphill for a short distance; the left-turning hillside path leads us towards the Oberneuschönberg Church. At the forest edge, there is a magnificent view of Olbernhau. It goes downhill into the Hüttengrund. The main road and the Flöha are crossed again. Passing Althammer to the left, we reach the Saigerhütte, our destination.
