"Hiking stories of salt and water" is the name given to this moderately difficult hike, which is recommended as a day tour due to its diversity. It offers scenic sections, historical information, places of interest, playgrounds and plenty of opportunities to stop and rest. It leads along the "Old Salt Road" long-distance trade route past the "Schwemmteich" pond, where the sheep of the "Große Vorwerk" were once driven to be washed and "washed out". Via the Kreztanne, you will reach the Rauschenbach dam, which will tell you more recent "water stories".

Directions
- From the Neuhausen tourist information office, the trail leads left past the Purschenstein wedding procession and further right through the Purschenstein castle park, past the glassworks museum, along the "Old Salt Road" towards Sayda. Discover the "Schwemmteiche" natural monument and continue along the "Malerweg". At the "Kleines Vorwerk" country inn, you can marvel at old domestic animal breeds, among other things. In Sayda, keep right at the post office and walk past the Kia car dealership towards the "Kreuztanne" hotel. Enjoy the view of Cämmerswalde and continue along the right-hand hiking trail. After approx. 500 m, a field path turns off to the right. Cross the main road in Cämmerswalde and continue straight ahead. You will soon be able to see the aircraft museum and marvel at the old aviation technology. Now it is not far to the Rauschenbach dam. The view as you cross the dam wall is fantastic. Then turn right along the guardrail on the inside and right again along the path along the fence down into the valley and follow the red markings. In Rauschenbach, before the former Hotel Jägerklause, turn left to the Münch Foundation nursing home. Leave the building on your right and follow the path into the forest. At the first crossroads, take the left-hand path and walk to the Kneipp basin. After the Kneipp basin, turn right and then left to the Ferienhotel Goldhübel with its interesting game reserve. Above the game reserve, keep right twice and then immediately left again, through the Häneldelle towards the center of Neuhausen.
