From the Rosengarten to the Hofewiese

The bike route starts at the Rosengarten directly on the Elbe Cycle Route in Dresden. From here, we cross Bautzner Straße and ride through the most colorful district of the city, the Dresden Neustadt.

After only a few minutes, we enter the Prießnitz valley in the Dresden Heath. Along the river, we cycle through the beautiful forest landscape. A highlight is reached in the north of the Heath: the Dresden Heath climbing forest. Especially for children from 6 years old, stopping at the high ropes course between April and October is worthwhile. Afterwards, the route leads after a climb to the open area in the middle of the Heath - the Hofewiese. Here, not only the horses invite you to pet them, but the guesthouse is also a popular excursion destination and offers refreshments.

The rest of the route leads east and eventually back towards the city. Shortly before the end, we reach another highlight: the wildlife enclosure in Albertpark with an adjoining adventure playground. A herd of fallow deer and mouflons live here, which are exciting to observe. The forest playground is also worth a visit. Various play equipment, huts, and houses invite exploration. The remainder of the route follows along the Elbe back to the starting point at the Rosengarten.
