A beautiful circular route with wonderful views of Bad Schlema, Aue, and Schneeberg in every season. This terrain therapy route challenges with a steep ascent but rewards with stunning views.

On one side of the Schlema Valley, facing south, rises the local mountain, the Gleesberg. With its 593 meters height, it is the highest mountain in the nearby area. On the summit, the Erzgebirgsverein Neustädtel built an observation tower and a mountain inn in the past century.

Directions

The start is at the Guest Information Bad Schlema. After a steep ascent, you reach the Gleesberg spring. The cozy shaded spot invites you to rest. The hike then proceeds relatively flat, offering panoramic views over Aue all the way to Wolfgangsmaßen. Many benches along the path invite you to take a break, and the Gleesberg mountain can also be climbed from the trail to the summit.

Then the hike goes through a residential area to reach the impressive Herderblick. Once there, you can enjoy the magnificent view of the mining town Schneeberg. Nearby is also a playground. Through the forest, past the forester's house, the path leads back to the Gleesberg spring. Nature lovers will fully enjoy this. From there, you return the same way towards the spa center and the Guest Information.
