Directions

We start our route at Albertplatz in Schöneck. Here is the Legend Fountain, which tells the story of the origin of Schöneck. Along the main street and through the residential area "Am Sohr" we leave the town heading towards Schilbach. At the "Freizeitgelände Haselmühle" you can make a short stop, swing a round on the playground, or simply enjoy the peace and quiet. We follow the green marking and walk over the somewhat outlying settlement Birkenhäuser, down into the Schöneck district of Schilbach. Along the old Eschenbacher Landstraße we leave Schilbach again and come back to Schöneck via the Bockmühle.

At the valley station of the 4-seater chairlift is our Kneipp foot pool, where you can refresh yourself wonderfully and your feet find a welcome cooling. At the "Hüttenwirt" you can have a hearty meal before you head up the last altitude meters back to Schöneck. The path leads directly to the area of the IFA holiday park and the Schöneck tourist information, as well as the stop of the Vogtlandbahn.

If you want to return to the start of the hike, you walk past the panoramic youth hostel newly opened in 2020, follow Klingenthaler Straße and are back at Albertplatz. Here the benches invite you to a small final rest. Or reward yourself with a nice piece of homemade cake in Ellie's coffee shop on the main street.

Author´s Tip / Recommendation of the author

Use the comfortable ascent with the help of the 4-seater chairlift in the summer months. A magnificent panoramic view into the vastness of the country and the town of Schöneck compensates for some of the effort.
