Directions

The path begins in the center of Seiffen and leads a short way up Bahnhofstrasse. At the next intersection, keep slightly to the right and walk towards the district Steinhübel. There, in the built-up area, turn right again, uphill through fields and meadows to the edge of the forest and here turn left between some houses. Behind them, walk right along the valley slope down into the Flöhatal. Soon you can see the first houses of Dittersbach (district Neuhausen). After crossing a forest clearing, you will find near the beginning of the spruce forest close to the path a block of serpentine stone. This is the legendary baptismal stone, where during the Thirty Years' War children from the surrounding area received their baptism. More information can be found on site. The path then leads further down to the valley road, which you follow into the town center of Neuhausen. The return route to Seiffen (red marking) starts at the church. The path leads right towards Schwartenberg, over the so-called Schwarte. At the highest point, it passes through a wooded area, in the middle of which a detour to Schwartenberg is offered to the left; this is an excellent viewpoint. Continuing along the red marking, past a weather-beaten beech tree where there is a refreshing view into the ridge area, leads down into the valley to Seiffen.
