This hike takes us from Schöneck via Korna, Arnoldsgrün and Schilbach. It partly runs along the long-distance hiking trails E3 and Euregio Egrensis.

The path runs along the Görnitzbach, which springs in Schöneck and flows into the Weiße Elster in Oelsnitz. This area is also called Neunmühlental - because once nine mills stood here. Starting at the Haselmühle, via the Muckenmühle, Zahnmühle and Kornmühle to the Spitzmühle near Arnoldsgrün, most of these mills were located in the upper section along our route. Only the Zahnmühle is still in operation today and is used as a sawmill. The Spitzmühle is currently a residential and holiday home.

Directions

We start our hiking route at the viewpoint rock "Alter Söll" and follow the blue mark along the forest road to the Haselmühle. Directly opposite the leisure facility, we turn off and stay on the blue marked path, following the Görnitzbach, we arrive at Korna. From here we follow the yellow mark, which leads us to Arnoldsgrün. From the town centre, the marking changes to green – the path now leads towards Schilbach. We follow it and reach Schilbach. A short detour to the village community centre is worthwhile, where a small playground and benches invite you to linger. Refreshed, we head back to the green marked hiking trail and via the settlement "Birkenhäuser" back to Schöneck.

Motorway A72 from Leipzig direction, exit Plauen East, via Mechelgrün, Bergen, Poppengrün to Schöneck

Motorway A93 from Bavaria to Dreieck Bayrisch-Vogtland, continue on A72 to exit Plauen-South and then via Oelsnitz, Tirschendorf and Arnoldsgrün to Schöneck

Take line RB1 of the Vogtlandbahn to Schöneck station and then walk to the viewpoint rock "Alter Söll".

With the bus line "TaktBUS22" from the direction Muldenberg (stop Kirchstraße), the "+Bus90" from Plauen / Oelsnitz (stop Sohrstraße), or the "TaktBUS93" from Bad Elster (stop Kirchstraße) you can easily and comfortably reach Schöneck.

Directly on the path, about 1.5 km after the start, you will find the Leuchtmooshöhle in the forest – a legendary place and former mine on the outskirts of Schöneck.
