Every year, one of Germany's largest paddling events takes place on this route. At the end of August, hundreds of water sports enthusiasts gather to complete this route from Grimma to Wurzen.
The route passes the impressive Trebsen castle and the Nitschka manor. Before that, you could take a break in Nerchau. On this route, two weir systems must be carried around.

- Route: 20 km
- Duration: 5 to 6 hours
- Carrying: 2 times from Grimma entry point
Start: Grimma, entry possibility at the stairs between the historic Pöppelmann Bridge and S 11 road, left riverbank (town side)
- Golzern weir on the left riverbank, before the weir edge (red-white pole) launch the boat,
Attention danger spot! Weir barrier impassable for boats; carry about 200 m and re-enter via concrete slope - After passing the A14 motorway bridge, follow the river course to the Trebsen paper mill weir (danger spot!),
Exit on the right riverbank at the landing stage and carry about 70 m to the sign for the launch slope - Past the paper mill to Trebsen castle (left riverbank, landing stage with stairs, gastronomy – break recommended)
- Then river sections with varying flow speeds to the Loreley rock
(Note: Here begins the backup of the Wurzen town weir, often strenuous paddling against the wind!), - Past the Dehnitz ferry
Destination: Wurzen, exit about 200 m before the weir edge on the right bank (grounds of the Wurzen canoe club)

From the direction of Chemnitz: via the A72, exit Borna-North onto the B176, then third exit at the roundabout towards Grimma
