“Everything is no longer what it used to be.”

Between these lines a bit of melancholy sounds, but perhaps at the end of the route we will come to the conclusion that many things are on a good path - decide for yourself! Let’s set off now to see that everything is no longer what it used to be.

We are going into the Tännicht, as it was called before. The word “Tännicht” is derived from fir and means a patch of forest. It meant everything around the Colmnitzbach after it has left the town. The fir trees have become rare, but we will still see some specimens. The “Tännicht” is also the highest mountain of the Tharandt Forest.

The start and finish is at Weidegut Colmnitz. Toilets are available here. There is a seasonal shopping option in the farm shop. Next, you continue on a part of the former embankment of the narrow-gauge railway up to the Lips Tulian rock. Then continue in the direction of the geographical center of Saxony – sporty people can enjoy a small summit experience here (surefootedness, a head for heights and alpine experience required). The return is through the Tännicht valley back to the starting point.
